Our traveling companion

Before I introduce you to our traveling companion I just want to say that I’m living up to my new goal of having a new show every month.  My next show will be on March 1st from 9am-5pm in Gruene Texas.  It’s an outdoor market located on 1720 Hunter Rd near the historic Gruene Dance hall.  I hope to see you there!

When most people think of an animal as a traveling companion, dogs are number one.  They enjoy people, going places, or doing things like swimming in the lake.  Dogs also usually like to hang their head out the window to enjoy the sites and the wind.  I have longed to have an animal in our apartment for many years.  Yet, we were without a pet until recently in our marriage.  I really never thought that we would own a cat because my husband is allergic to them however he’s not that allergic to her.  Her name is TIgerlily and we have trained her to: walk on a leash, ride in the car, and are continuing to get her use to going new places.  If my husband is free for Monday and Thursday mornings when I have a dog walking job she comes along.  Then she rides across the street to visit one of my customers while I walk her dog.  Sometimes I take her to our nearest pet store where she enjoys watching the birds but hisses or growls when we pass the cats for adoption.  Often people are astonished to see a cat on a leash.  However, she doesn’t quite walk just like a dog on a leash.  She moves a little and stops often to watch a bird or catch something in the grass.  Instead of me leading her all the time I often let her do some of the leading.
